Our prayers are with innocent civilians in Ukraine
26. February 2022Kemal Ergün, Chairman of the Islamic Community Millî Görüş (IGMG), made a statement on the occasion of the war in Ukraine. “Our prayers are with innocent civilians in Ukraine. Helping them should already be a top priority.” said Ergün, and continued his words as follows:
“The biggest sufferers of wars are innocent civilians. It will be no different in Ukraine. Children, women and the elderly will be the ones who suffer the most. Europe should prepare itself for the worst-case scenario and take action. It should help the victims with all available means and, if necessary, protect them quickly and without bureaucratic obstacles. In this context, the situation of refugees living in inhumane conditions in Greece and other countries should also not be overlooked.
The whole world must take action and do whatever it takes to end the conflict as soon as possible. The United Nations should not stop efforts to end wars after the failed draft resolution. The protection of the lives of innocent people must be the first priority above all political and economic interests.
As IGMG organization, we work to help people in need, and we are always ready to help. We hope that they will get through this terrible process as soon as possible without any harm, and we wish them patience.”
