Dear brothers and sisters!
Human beings, the most honorable of all creations in the
universe, have been created worthy of all praise and respect. As it has superior qualities such as reason and will, it can distinguish good from bad, right from wrong, and beautiful from ugly. Every human being is born as free and innocent. It is forbidden by our religion to interfere with the freedoms of people, to restrict their rights of life, to take away their freedom of belief and worship, and to steal their rights of owning possessions. These issues have been accepted as mutual human values by all religions throughout history. Therefore, no human being can be subjected to a different treatment due to their belief, language, race, and color. The freedom of thought and belief and the desire to worship freely are the most natural rights of every human being.
Dear Brothers and Sisters!
With the grace of Allah (swt), we evaluated Ramadan, the sultan of eleven months, with Ibadah despite some difficulties brought by the pandemic. We tamed our Nafs by fasting, approached Allah (swt) by performing tarawih prayers, blessed our goods by paying our zakat, opened ourselves to Allah (swt) with our duas, and we gave our way of life again by reading our book of life, the Quran. Praise be to Allah who made us successful in committing these righteous deeds. We must now continue these beauties, which we have earned in line with our identity as a believer, which continues every day of the year.
Dear Brothers and Sisters!
Allah (swt) says in the Quran, “Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous.” In the verse, Allah (swt) says that some people in this world will be enemies to each other in the hereafter, but believers who have achieved piety will be excluded from them. Because, the love of people with Taqwa for each other will remain. For, people of Taqwa fulfil the rights that belong to Allah and the rights of the people. Muttaqi [pious] people do things that Allah has imposed, avoid things that Allah forbids, and treat Allah's servants in accordance with the rules of Islam. Therefore, their friendship and brotherhood will remain.
Dear Brothers and Sisters!
It is a period of time when Allah's graciousness to His servants is abundant, sinners will be forgiven, and those who want to get rid of their mistakes can be forgiven, the holy Night of Power [Laylatul Qadr]. It is a night when the relief that the month of Ramadan sprinkles in our hearts reaches its peak. Endless praise to Allah (swt) for giving us this blessed fruitful night which is better than a thousand months and salutations to Rasulullah (saw).
Kemal Ergün, Chairman of the Islamic Community Millî Görüş (IGMG), urged people not to slacken the fight against the pandemic. “Muslims have shown their support for the fight against the pandemic by strictly observing the hygiene measures in mosques. To make these efforts more valuable, we need to strengthen our immune systems against the virus.“ said Ergün, and continued his statement as folows:
Bekir Altaş, Secretary General of Islamic Community Millî Görüş (IGMG), released a statement on the occasion of a research conducted on behalf of German Islam Conference (DIK), titled “Muslim Life in Germany 2020” (Muslimisches Leben in Deutschland 2020). In his statement Altaş said that “Islamic communities that are under the umbrella of Coordination Council of Muslims in Germany (KRM) represent the concerns and interests of the Muslim population in Germany. The central finding of the research titled ‘Muslim Life in Germany 2020’ is this. Both the Federal government and the state governments should reconsider their existing policies that disregard the Muslims in Germany.”
Dear Brothers and Sisters!
Among the creatures created by Allah (swt), the only creature with a will are humans. In order to distinguish good and bad, right and wrong, man has been granted an advantage called reason. Man has been given the opportunity to freely choose between them. For this very reason, humans have been subjected to a test by Allah (swt). The test, which is the purpose of our existence in life, has two main parts. First of all, it is our belief and deeds that we will perform as a result of our belief. In the first verses of the Surah al-Baqara, Allah (swt) states the following: “Alif, Lām, Meem. This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah. Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.”
